PRESENTERS
Dr. Charles Lee received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, his Masters in Music from Temple University, and his Bachelor of Arts in Composition from the Eastman School of Music. His teachers include Judith Glyde, Jeffrey Solow and David Ying. He is currently the principal cellist of the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra, and also performs with Colorado Ballet and Opera Colorado orchestras. He teaches at Metro State University of Denver and Regis University.
Currently based in Lafayette, cellist Erin Patterson maintains an active teaching and performing career along Colorado’s Front Range. Erin has been a member of the Grammy nominated, all cello ensemble Uccello, and the Internationally acclaimed Altius Quartet. She has been invited to teach and perform at festivals such as the Cincinnati Young Artists Chamber Music Festival, the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, the Crested Butte Music Festival, and Just Chamber Music, and has held body awareness seminars for the National Academy Orchestra of Canada. Erin performs regularly with the Boulder Philharmonic, Opera Colorado, the Colorado Ballet, and the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, and is principal cellist of the Boulder Symphony. She performs seasonally on the Western Slope Concert Series in Grand Junction and held a residency at the Lakes Area Music Festival in 2019 where she planned and performed outreach concerts in locations from libraries to prisons.
Erin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Cello Performance from the University of Cincinnati College - Conservatory of Music and a Master’s Degree in Cello Performance at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music. Her most prominent teachers include Avi Friedlander, Alan Rafferty, and Matt Haimovitz. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2021 and is currently working on her 500 hour training. When she isn't performing or teaching, Erin enjoys exploring colorful Colorado with her partner, Paul, and two rescue dogs, Lilo and Otis.
